Grace Parra

As President and Co-Founder of YUPP (Young United Professionals for Pie), Grace Parra filmed a documentary about the 2007 National Pie Championships, a yearly competition where pie bakers, pie chefs, and pie enthusiasts gather to laud their favorite baked good. Grace's fascination with pie began in her homeland of Texas, which is also where her interests in comedy, television, and life began. She moved to New York to attend Columbia University, where she studied what any budding comedian would: politics and Hispanic Studies. A regular improvisor and stand-up, Grace recently relocated to Los Angeles as part of NBC's writing fellowship, Writers on the Verge. She has appeared on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, her writing has been published in McSweeney's, and she's a student/performer at UCB-LA.
